Classic. I tried to remove the verdigris on mine but it came back. I’ve grown to like it. Reminiscent of older boots. The newer brass eyelets definitely have some sort of treatment to avoid oxidation.
I think it’s just luck of the draw. I had a pair where the verdigris only developed on one side and on a few eyelets. At least you know they’re real brass at this point ?
