Did they make two pairs and send you the best boot from each pair? It's a stock model for Brooklyn but not direct Viberg. All of Brooklyn's last restock had structured toes so these had to be made from scratch.

Yep.Did they make two pairs and send you the best boot from each pair?
What's going on here? How does it look top down?Straight caps, good clicking and unstructured toes. 11 days from putting the order in to delivered at my office. Color me impressed.
Looks fine to my untrained eyes.

Well as we all know, Viberg is no longer doing structured toes. They are also doing Blake tack stitching in areas to prevent separation due to the wood expansion in the shank. CXL has a tendency to tear which is why Horween is going to stop making it. They will be designing an improved option for Viberg, code name CXXL.
Commando soles are criminally underutilized on Vibergs- perfect for this makeup. In terms of that photo, you're not going to get that kind of contrast with natural waxed flesh, but you're right that walking through debris is the best way to get that look naturally.Today I went with the Division Road × Viberg 2045 commando in natural waxed flesh. I love 2045, and the waxed flesh is thick and seems crazy durable. (Sorry about the bland setting -- let's call it outdated industrial chic.)

I have the black makeup, too.
I saw this popular photo of another waxed flesh boot with a lot of wear. Does one have to deliberately scrub and abrade his waxed flesh boots to get that kind of wear showing? I don't think my regular suburban use is going to do much to get that patina any time soon. I guess I'll start alternating between both pairs and hit the trails, and maybe the twigs and brush will start the process.
If any of you fellas have some nice, well-worn waxed flesh Vibergs, please do share some photos.

Word on the street is that pair of waxed flesh was worn by a photographer friend of Brett and the wear was supposedly all natural.
I take it that photographer's photo subjects were outside, and those boots saw woods and trails. I just don't see the concrete jungle exacting that kind of toll on these.
I'm guessing the ones in the photo are perhaps black waxed flesh (?), and so I won't (as @Chrikelnel pointed out) get that kind of contrast on these natural waxed flesh ones. But even on my black ones, I think it's going to take some hiking-type activity (at the very least) to get that patina going.
Do you take 2030 1/2 down from brannock or a full size down?Slipper question:
I order suede slippers a full size down from my 2030 size. There's beautiful but there's noticeable heal slip on both heels. Everywhere else fits awesome. Has anyone had this initial experience and then had it self-correct over time, have you just dealt with the heal slip since day one, or did you say F it and return them?
