Thanks for trying. In other threads, that person has already been identified as a lame wannabe-provocateur troll, a veritable waste of your time. Many have found it helpful to simply block him and other very silly little idiots.

Those look great. I'm weighing an investment in a pair of old-school hikers, maybe these, maybe Paraboot Avoriaz. Would want a smooth leather though. I've got a very useful pair of Garmont in nubuck that haven't aged very well aesthetically given that I apply waterproofing every 6 months.

I think you'll be happier with the last D-ring. My longstanding complaint about most hiking boots (and I do hike, a lot) is that the last speed hook isn't very secure, and if you catch the lace on a root or stick you'll undo the whole shebang.

Wear them in good health, nephew!

    Bandwagon jumper here.

I don't really go for the White's/Engineer boots aesthetic. I'm not a lumberjack, never will be, nor do I want to look like an extra from The Wild One. I always lumped Viberg into that look, but seeing the sample sale opened my eyes to the possibilities of alternative leathers on traditional lasts, so I plumped for the waxed flesh pre-order here.

Good for Guy Ferguson and Brett Viberg for keeping the brand vital. Now of course the trick is to keep quality and customer service at a level that justifies the prices. Not going to be easy, I think.

^^Now all we need in this thread is a McArthur who collects Vibergs instead of Aldens, preferably in a 9 or 9.5...:slayer:

@Michael Haines don't you need to wear thicker socks as you'll go hike? I assume that the boots have enough cushion inside though.

Boot has plenty of cushion and I will wear Variety of diffrent thinkness as needed. What I worry when trying a hiker is can I wear a think sock when it's needed and this did it well for me.

You had chance to wear, ordered and given thats its a hiker and will use for that have concerns about fit ? Went with my "Boondocker" sizing.

As far as wear goes, the rough out IMO looks even better the more it wears. Have had roughout in hikers be for and even with out dubbing they hold up well.

    Thanks.

    Also a fan of Paraboot...
