That leather is actually seal tumbled horse. How's the last fitting?
I first thought it was the seal brown tumbled horsehide but it feels nothing like horsehide.

The kudu and horsehide look identical

I handled both of these a lot at SS and chatted to the guys about it, ones you've pictured are definitely seal tumbled horse. There's zero scarring on them and the grain is different, they also don't feel like horsehide but that's because it's been tumbled. Screenshot_20190826-205842_WhatsApp.jpg

New from Standard & Strange

Thoughts on the kind of Vibram sole used here ?

Very much like the ones Red Wing uses on IR now... I am a little perplexed since they look a bit cheap.

Sole cords would have made the boots more interesting.. but that leather is awesome indeed.

Just got a message from Viberg saying that they've been having a lot of trouble making the shell chelseas, and as such are discontinuing the run. They're offering early access to any future shell release, but I'm inquiring to see if they're refunding us first.

Edit: They're refunding the purchase price. So we'll see if anything appealing comes up.

After 3-4 months they do this? Jeez not to be petty but they should be paying you guys interest on all the cash they sat on while figuring out this didn’t work (and restocking their stock shell Chelseas during that time).

If this were on a 2030 i would be all over it. And partial structure toe. My MTO will be similar.

Oh bummer. I wonder what the problem was. Maybe lasting?

Yeah probably. They said that they're discontinuing all shell chelseas for the time being until they can figure out a better way to make them. I'm just going to take the refunded money and put it towards a Camoshita coat, or the Hiro Yanagimachi order I have due soon.
