the heel slip should change as the boot begins to bend with your foot and become more flexible. my chelseas came to fit much better overall with time -- increased lateral space in toebox, better heel fit, better contact with the top of the foot, and softer on the achilles tendon. mileage with your leather may vary (mine are a sample sale mystery leather the seller listed as "Rowdy Dachshund.")

Actually I just looked back at the Grailed listing I bought them from and I had not realized how much they'd changed. grailed pic:

i guess mine are structured toe. they've been great for walking, and I might see about getting a crepe sole put on once this daninite wears down the rest of the way

That is super helpful and I appreciate your response. I have a slightly wide foot and a really narrow heel so I have issues with loafers too but I thought I would give these a try and for the most part they feel awesome. I’m glad to be reassured they would slightly stretch in the toe box.

Yours look fucking fantastic and I’m hoping mine get broken in quick and develop the awesome patina yours did.

What size is your Chelsea vs 2030 size? Or Alden Barrie if you know.

    Thanks!

A natural or tan/brown lace would look better in those

Normally I’d agree with you, but I’m digging the black with these. I tried the brown laces they came with and didn’t like the look. Maybe as they darken I’ll switch to a different color.

I’m digging the small flat laces instead of the round laces. Agree about what other said about the color but you do you. Where are the laces from?
