Does anyone know anything about Viavor, a Vancouver company that makes MTM shoes from laser scans? The models don't look horrible. I can't find accurate pricing online, but it's supposed to be under CA$1000 to have a last constructed, so I'd guess the whole thing is significantly cheaper than the bespoke European shoes that have been mentioned here before.

The lasts are made of plastic, so I wouldn't compare with European bespoke.

But anyway. I didn't find prices nor something concrete about the construction of the shoes.

Well I'm sure it's not as good as bespoke, but there seems to be a gap between OTR and bespoke shoes that needs to be filled. Excuse my ignorance, but why the material of the last matter? I think there's little information because they are a manufacturer that normally works through retailers. I'd hope full details would be available in-store.

Otabo Custom Shoes performs the same task - before I really started getting into shoes, I went in to have a pair of shoes done. I noticed that the quality/appearance of the shoes themselves looked.. not fantastic, and opted against it. These shoes look at least SLIGHTLY better in design.

These shoes will probably fit you pretty well; they will, however, not look like your EGs or.. most other things mentioned on this board that cost you 400+.. If that's ok with you, go for it.

It is not a question of ignorance. The whole process of shoemaking is quite complex(extensive).

Check the posts of Jane Melkersson and J.P. Myhre about lastmaking and fitting.

Cheers.
