Vest with belt

I just got an odd vest that I'd like to wear with a sports coat, but I don't have any pants made for braces. Can you wear the vest with a belt or how about just the pants with no belt? What is the best option here?

You can wear the pants with a belt or you could have brace buttons sewn into the pants and wear braces with them.
