I have rrds which is a litttle too bootcut for my tastes. I'm still trying to get a pair of 5ep low down in a 29" waist which i think will be perfect. What other VERY subtle bootcut jeans are out there ? I have a feeling La Guy could answer this

I love the cut of the SDA-D1002, which has a lower rise and a considerable tighter fit than the 5EPs. Get a size 30 for those. Super long hem, so there is some stacking. You can "barely" tell that there is a bootcut, except that, imo, it falls nicer on your jeans than a true straightcut does.

Cheers for that. I like the sound of the sd's. Just to confirm are these a smaller bootcut than RRDS and by how much measured ?

some of the newer RRL slim bootcuts are pretty subtle. I've got a pair thats a 8.5 inch knee and a 9.25 inch hem. Also something really straight like a nudie sven or the like can give the illusion of being a slight bootcut if worn a little longer than your usual inseam.
