Vera Pelle means 'real leather' in Italian. Sounds like the Divinci bit is the brand name.

Yeah, he's a distant relative to da Vinci, as Paolo Gucci is to the house of Gucci.

While DIVINCI didn't paint any Mona Lisa's he did make afew nice wallets!

Actually, Paolo Gucci was a direct descendant (grandson?) of the Gucci founder (Guccio Gucci?) and was the design director of Gucci in the 1980s and was forced out during some of the acrimonious family battles of that period. After leaving, he threatened to start his own line of more mass-market Paolo Gucci clothing (which led to litigation); I've only seen it in Marshalls on occasion so I'm not sure if it ever really got off the ground. I believe he's dead now.

:p Annnnyway, I guess the designer, or maker is Leonardo Da Vinci. I thought it was just the style name or something. Found a blog about the almost exact same one, and the lady said she bought it here:

http://www.forzieri.com/usa/default.asp?l=usa&c=usa

Looks like a nice place with a ncie array of designers. I'm thinkin it must be nice if it's from here. Anyone have any past experiences with this place?

Sara Gay Forden recounts the Borgia-like battles of the Gucci family in her book.

Wasn't he murdered? If I recall, someone walked up and plugged him in the back of the head on a sidewalk in broad daylight.
