My experience with Vegas is that there is no dress code. You won't look out of place, wear what you want.

Well I went to Nordstrom today, think I found a few pair of shoes I like. What do you all think of these. Any catch your eye or seam more suited for jeans than the others?

The plain toe is not that bad, but I'm assuming this is AE's diffusion line. You could find mainline shoes for probably near your budget.

The rest of those shoes are pretty horrid though.

Don't look to into it man.

Like other guys said above, if you haven't been out in Vegas before, you will be shocked at the level of douche baginess. Sure there will be a few guys dressed well in quality clothes, but all the others will look like total ******* ass hats in Ed Hardy/Affliction and the ones trying to look good will look staright out of the latest Express Men's catalog.

Ok thanks for the heads up. I haven't been before so not really sure what to expect.

Dress shoes are a must though right?

those allen edmonds tribeca were awesome... fit great, really comfortable. but i didn't like the rubber bottom.. that shows wear quickly. returned them. can't find the equivalent with a leather bottom yet, but will buy when i finally find them. should have been 200 bucks right?

I was going to go with this:

American Eagle Striped Button Up Untucked (no undershirt?)

Express BLAKE BOOT CUT JEAN - DARK FADE

Questions
I'd like to buy a nice pair of dress shoes to go with this but am a little lost on what type of dress shoes would go nice with jeans. I'd like to keep it under 150 bucks for the shoes and prefer something that is black and that I'd also be able to use for work afterwards (business casual, kahki pants or slacks with polo or button up). Can anyone give me some examples??

On another note I want to buy a nice watch. If you have any suggestions please let me know. I'd like to keep it under 300 bucks (but willing to spend up to 500)

Thanks for your help,

You could do a lot worse with the clothes so I won't criticize them. For shoes, look on the buy sell forum here for something in your price range. Go with simple black shoes (no square toes!) that would look equally good with a suit. For watch, you can look at very good seikos for $500 plus swatch for a lot less. There is Stowa for around 4-500 and vintage watches like this: http://vintagewatchrestoration.com/inventory/

Have fun.

I don't want you to think I'm an asshole, but that's a pretty brutal line up of shoes (except the AE by Allen Edmonds 'Embarcadero' Plain Toe Oxford), and the outfit that you posted in the first pic is going to make you fit right in with every other "douche" out there - i.e. you're going to look like everyone else at any of the clubs you go to, which may be what youre going for. But who am I to judge - just because I dont' like AE and Express doesn't mean you should listen to me - I'm just saying there's nothing special about that outfit.

I think you should class it up a little bit with some lightweight wool dress pants (j. crew), and stick to a button up without a logo on it.

You could get an automatic watch from hamilton for $500, brand new, might be worth checking them out.

So I'll try to be helpful and share an outfit I put together for vegas last time I was there in March - feel free to rip me:

I would get a Nixon watch. They are quite Vegas/Beach appropriate and look good for your age and the look you're going for. Probably not appropriate for most uses here, but for Vegas it should be pretty good if you're looking for something age-appropriate to your income/dress. Probably a bit douchey, but its vegas, who cares.

As stated in this thread, black button up shirts and jeans are essentially the "vegas uniform". You'll look like everyone else in the club, all you need is a bowl cut and you'll be humping

Alright from the tips and suggestions in this thread I put together a couple of new outfits. Tell me what you think. Which one do you like/dislike? Anything I should change (i.e. like the shirt but you should go with different shoes, like..., go with these X pants instead of the ones you have,...). Outfit 1 7 Diamonds Striped, Black Stripe Shirt (untucked)

OR banana republic grey-stripe shirt (untucked)

Outfit 2 Banana Republic Button UP Brick/Red Striped Button up (Untucked)

Do yourself a favor and just wear whatever you have for now. Use the money you would have otherwise spent on clothes on more important things, like blow or hookers.

When you get back you can start working on your wardrobe if you really feel like you want to improve that area, otherwise it's pointless be to blowing hundreds on an outfit for Vegas.

Just go blow that money on having more fun at Las Vegas rather than getting some shoes that might step into a puddle of puke. There is no SF Police roaming Las Vegas so just go and have fun.
