hi huys,

I ordered a pair of u-last monks last year in a size 42 (I'm a pretty solid uk8E in C&J, and usually a 42 in most shoes). When I got them, they were pretty tight. had great difficulty doing up the last hole on the strap. certainly uncomfortable. I should note I have a high instep.

I am about to reorder, and am trying to choose between going a half size up to a 42.5, or getting a 43.

I'd greatly appreciate any help or advice you can throw my way.

Thanks

Unless your Vass contact has a U last shoe in size 42.5 & 43 for you to try on, I would not order at all

I was able to try on a few Vass lasts in my size range before ordering. As a result, I got the right shoe

FYI, I was a 45.5 on the Budapester last...and thus ordered a 46 in the U last. An error was made and a 45.5 U last shoe was sent.

It was uncomfortable as I found it tight, narrow, short and tough on my high instep.

I finally received a 46 U lasted shoe and am pleased with the fit.

It is narrower than my G&G TG73 & EG 888 lasts, but are decent on my insteps given they are Oxfords

How do you feel about spending money on non-essential goods during the Covid-19 crisis?

  • I don't want to spend money at a time of economic uncertainty, even if I could afford it.

  • I feel compelled to spend to help small businesses that are struggling.

  • I reduced my budget for non-essential goods and I'm not spending at the moment.

  • Not much has changed for me and I'm still buying stuff I can't afford.
