Very nice. I also noticed the V-notch at the back of your chukka boots. Great detailing. Do enjoy them...

Indeed, lovely. See that you went with the toe cap. How is that working out for you?

naturlaut - Thanks for the comments. The V was a surprise for me but I'm liking it.

drljva - I take it you mean the metal toe-taps? They are very nicely installed, perfectly flush with the sole, unlike my Edward Greens where the screws stick out a bit. It makes a different clicking noise only when going up and down stairs.

caledonia - These shoes are ready made, and as far as I know Mr Vass is only available in Budapest.

Yeah, sorry: I meant to say "toe-taps". Looks like Vass did a great job on those. I'm very surprised to hear you say that you're not happy with the way the toe-taps came out on your EGs. I seem to recall one or two posters here saying that they were quite happy with the way EG had done this operation for them (and judging from the pictures that were posted at that time, it seemed -- to my eyes, anyway -- to look pretty good).

Didn't mean to say I wasn't happy with the way EG installed the toe-taps. The Vass taps were just installed better. On my one EG with metal taps, the metal piece is perfectly flush with the sole, but the screws stick out ever so slightly. This doesn't affect traction at all - it's just something you can see if you look closely. If you look at the image linked below, you may notice little bumps where the screws are. There are no such bumps on the Vass shoes.

Darn you people who live near NYC. I have to wait on stupid ol' UPS.

Good job on both pairs, BTW.

jcusey, I love those Norwegian split-toe lace ups. Where can I get a pair? Does Vass mail order? How does one get fitted?
