Vass shoes - Italian polish

What does Italian polish on a pair of Vass shoes imply?

it is a cool , high-polished, glazed look. it actually makes the leather look really rich. i recommend it for a dark color leather on a bal/ more formal looking shoe.

Thanks. Is there any downside to it, e.g. is it difficult to mantain?

not really i would think not. just give it a quick application of leather conditioner and buff with a clean, soft cotton rag every once in awhile for a good upkeep.

I went with this on my oxblood U-last monks and the shine has held up very, very well without looking remotely plastic-y.
