Do you also go the Rejuv >> Paste >> Wax method once a while and then wax/paste sometimes? I ask as I have never used Saphir and normally for the first intial shine use conditioner(brooks neutral) followed by AE paste/sometimes Alden paste and then AE or Lincoln/Alden wax.

actually, everyone should be picky about fit. on the other hand fit is a very individual and personal thing. take that. i'm a measured US 9/9.5 i wear closer to 10.5/11. this refers to the shoes, which have been made for me. it slenders the appearance of my wide feet. the fit is nailed at the heel and around my arch and instep. you see, i have a very determined approach to fit and shoes in general. btw, i prefer kiwi. i didn't feel the advantage of the saphir experience. not bad at all, though.

it's possible that you're stepping into another dimension from now on.

    have a good one.

Understand I'm pretty happy with my current method and result...but again I need to learn how to keep a tap on my curiosity:)

wax/paste works best for me. i sometimes forego paste. depends on my mood.

i do not condition new shoes. makes no sense, does it?

as stated in the shoe care thread. everyone develops his own regime and this is what it should be. no matter how much you read about various processes. your own experiences cannot be substituted. it's no rocket science at all.

I haven't read this thread, but I can't believe it is even a question. Let's see, Handwelted vs. Gemmed? Hmmmmm.

Me not use renovator much except on white leather.
Best to start shoe clean by using little bit wet warm rag and wipe all dust and dirt from shoe,
    this very good to do.
Wipe soft at first and then rub more heavy with warm little bit wet rag.
Let shoe dry for 10 minute.
Use small bit of paste and rub into shoe using circle motion,
do small part of shoe until it all done.
    Sometime me use the wax,
    not much.
    That enough.
Me use many shoe polish once but me use Saphir now because it best me ever use,
it very very good and more fun than other polish.
    Other polish boring.
Saphir bring out extra beautiful in shoe,
me like it very very much.

    Yes.
it little bit better than some good polish for three time increase in price.
not good value but good to use it.
Polish last long time so it not so bad.
me take long long time to get Saphir because of language barrier :fu:
Me find saphir paste better than saphir wax.

it best polish new shoe if made in factory and bought at shop.
it could be in shop for long long time and leather can be dry.
Many shop bought shoe get dry and take lot of paste when new.
If new shoe not nourish good it might damage leather when man walk in it for first time (a man tell me this who knows lot of things).

I think I needed to go down half a size to 40. I took an insole for a US size 8 shoe and put it in, and it was a quarter-inch short. I still had heel slippage with an insole, and I wasn't sure adding a tongue pad was a good solution.

So, I think my size in New Peter last is 40, at worst 39.5.
