OK - I've got to get rid of these shoes. They're too nice to sit in my closet and take up valuable space (and my wife said if she trips over them again they're going down the compactor chute!

). I got these from Adam at Skyvalet awhile ago. They're too big for me, so I've always worn them (6 times? 8 times?) w/ insoles - the soles are scuffed but the footbed is relatively 'virgin'. They have (removeable) protective taps on the toe and heel. I took some old-fashioned pictures that I sent to a prospective buyer a couple of weeks ago, but one of my kids recently jammed his fingers through the shutter gates on our camera, so no pics until it's repaired.

Size 44 (U.S. 11), the model is called the New Norweger. It's a plain split-toe blucher (5 eyelet) in rich oxblood calf. They are built on the R last - I don't know how to describe this other than to say it's not as 'fitted' as the U, but nothing like the gunboat Budapest either. They are a beautiful, elegant pair of shoes, and they are yours for $480 shipped.

What you get: the shoes! nice custom Vass shoetrees; Vass shoebags and original box. Special bonus: a pair of size 11 CT plain brown suede derbys (2 eyelet, worn a few times, w/ taps).

My no-risk guarantee: if you don't like them, send 'em back and I'll refund your $, minus shipping. I've dealt with a number of folks here (kent wang, ed morel, seok, earthmover, arethusa, jamison(chorse?), etc.) who can attest to my relativley unquestionable character...no one will stuck w/ shoes they don't like.

You've got nothing to loose, so get these shoos!

When you say they're too big, did you size up, or are you a pretty true 11 in US sizing? And is the issue (unintentional double-entendre alert!) too much width, or too much length, or both?

No, I'm a 10.5 (slightly narrow). I ordered these via phone from SV down in DC. I now know that I take a 43.5 (and even 43) in European sizing. I loved these so much I fooled myself into believing that the fit OK with the insoles. They're both a little long and a little wide. I'm pretty sure they are a good 11 U.S. medium (D).

Yes, I know. This reminds me of the time a new Carlene Cater record came out on CD-only and I was forced to relinquish my deathgrip on the old vinyl mindset and join the rest of the human race. As I said, I had gone to the effort to take some old-style photos for a prospective buyer, but now my kids have gone & FU'd the camera....

gdl - if I'm not mistaken, you're an 11, no? And in NYC - I smell a special deal brewing....

Alright - so I found a pic of an R-last Vass shoe (not Norweger). Too round-toe for my taste but nice nonetheless

Thanks - now we're talking! Now imagine this in a plain blucher, no brogueing, 5 eyelet, oxblood calf. One thing I noticed in googling for a pix was that the Norwegers I saw were all clunkier than mine. I checked the box last night & my model is the New Norweger: decidedly 'sleeker', and no double sole, which a lot of the pictured Norweger models seem to have....

Where are you in NYC? Will be there next week on business, downtown -- 85 Broad. Anywhere close to you? If no pics, might like to see them in person.
