Vass F Last as a boot

What would you guys say to the F last done as a boot?

Take the Norweger boot -

it's almost elegant but the peter last is a bit round. I am considering it on the F last so it will be more elegant, but half a size up so I can wear winter socks.

Any views appreciated.

Thanks!

I don't think that an F-last would look as good as the peter last, because the Norweger calls for a more casual sturdy looking last.

I suppose the F Last would have a longer narrower feel but I can't see why that wouldn't work, it would just be a more elegant Norweger? Your point, though, echoes my reservation but I wonder is it really that incongrous?

I have wing-tip blucher boots on the F last. I love them.

Von Rothbart's F last suede theraseiner boots are one of my all-time favorites from the shoe Appreciation thread.

I am entertaining for quite a while the idea of commissioning Vass interpretation of balmoral boot on F last (i.e. Vass rendition of Shannon). At least from pictures seen Vass F last seems quite similiar to EG 82, though have not seen either of these in person. Theresianer boots of theirs are very appealing, but alas derby.

I asked about this some time ago, and they said they would only do it bespoke, and only for walk-ins to the store. They don't have the upper pattern to do it MTO, and would not develop one for a one-off.

Walk in to Vass store is much easier than arranging to try EG 82 in person. It is even a must as I need to establish my true EU size according to Vass for both F and U lasts. Knowing no less than half a dozen places in Erste bezirk alone in nearby Vienna carrying Vass, none of them in my recollection has anything in F or U last, everyting on display being derbies in true Mittel Europa fashion and likewise lasts. Grateful if you could quote Vass bespoke price at time of your inquiry, and eventually RTW/MTO for comparison.

On a side note in a similar vein would like to explore/compare balmoral boot of MTO with Tricker's. I've got adelaide co-respondent pair from their factory shop on a very appealing last/fiddled painted waist (cannot quote last by heart). Last is not at all very much different shape wise from EG 82/Vass F.
Their MTO quote (any last) was GBP 450, and just right now Tricker's has a pair of balmoral boots on their ebay shop. Obviously seconds, pair mentioned is evidence Tricker's know their way around balmoral boots.

I never asked about bespoke pricing because visiting them in person was not in the cards. I just asked if they could make a bal boot MTO, and they said "no."

But I do love the blucher boots I ended up with.

I don't think I've ever seen the Vass Norweger on either the F or the U last. Do they do that?

BTW, I find F to be wider in the toe area than 82. It certainly fits me a lot better. I actually like the way it looks more, as well. Maybe the best RTW round toe last out there.

For some reason, I have soured on 82. I prefer 202 or JLP 7000. 7000 appears narrower than 82, but somehow fits me better.

I believe there's pictures of one in the shoe pictorial index pinned at the top of the forum.
