Pending legalities: OK, I need cash. I'll go over to Vass tomorrow morning, as well as to Posta to get shipping estimates. I would expect that I can ship to the US for around $600 - $650 excluding duties. Vass is a 20 minute walk from me so turnaround will be as quick as the shop can handle. If there is enough demand, I'll formalize a little bit and get pictures of leathers, etc. And of course, costs will go down

Shipping from here is really expensive, as has been discussed before. If costs run to $700, are people still interested? Tom

As far as I know . MTM requires 2 visits in person, they will not ship it to you after initial measurement. You will get better price on instock shoes and save on VAT (20%) if you have non EU passport.

Taking current exchange rate VASS tax free is around $420.00

Tiger, thanks for making yourself available as another Vass option

$700??? Depends on the shoe...standard models...U or F lasts are a premium...add a boot design and adds a premium...add Cordovan horse leather (a Vass speciality) and the price goes up further

If you can itemize these extras...it would give folks a better idea of how much things cost

For the U.S., there is Gabor Halmos...his internet site gives folks an idea of how much things cost...his pricing includes shipping, duties, and shoe trees

Perhaps with the nose diving of the Florint...Gabor's prices might improve...but you have to personally contact him for that

OK, so I'll do cost by last and leather, with and without trees. I'm quite sure all prices will be substantially below the 900-1000 on ebay. I should also have more customization available, but not the protections of ebay.

And people: Forints
