The link is here

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Handmade-Sho...8640927&sr=1-5

It says

Product details

* Hardcover: 216 pages
* Publisher: Ullmann Publishing (27 Oct 2010)

The price seems too good to be true, is this the real thing or a mistake happened? There is no image available, and google didn't help. If anybody knows something more, please tell us and leave a copy for me, ok

The price doesn't raise any flags for me. It looks like it might be a new edition. I have the last one, and I think it only cost around $20 or so. Great book with lots of pictures.

I'm not sure if it is a new edition, it might be just a reprint. .

The original publisher was Könemann, who did go out of business a number of years ago. This edition (if it is a different edition) is published by H Fullmann, the same people who the re-published the Roetzel book (also originally Könemann). The Roetzel book was (partially) revised and the new price has doubled, the Vass book still sells for (more or less) the same price than the original in 1999.

That leads me to the suspicion, nothing might have changed (but, of course, I can be wrong).

The question on my mind, is the same misprint still in place. (I’m referring to the English edition, don’t know if other language editions have this problem).

On page 100/101 the book states the average cordovan shell measures approximately 30 square feet (3 sq m) and the average lizard skin 10 square feet (1 sq m), that lizard must have been the model for ‘Godzilla’. (They state correctly on the previous page, that a cow hide can go up to 30 square feet.) Correct would be 3 and 1 square foot, respectively.

I wonder, if they did correct this.

THe book I got state that for cordovan is 0.9 square feet (0.3 sq m) and for lizard skin is 0.3 square feet (0.1 sq m) so I think that they have corrected for this version...

It seems that the numbers in square meters are correct according to bengal but they made the wrong conversion to square feet, thinking they are converting meters to feet.

I got mine a couple of years ago for like $5 + shipping, so I wouldn't worry if the price is good.
