1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

I understand from Paul Wade at Louis Boston that the Vass reps will be at Louis Boston on May 14 and May 15 with no extra charge for special orders.

Mr. Harris, I'm assuming this would be stock sizes and not the bespoke service? How does something like this work?

I was about to post on this subject, thanks for bringing it up JohnMS.

I will be assisting Gabor at the Artisan's Collaborative. It will be held at Louis Boston on Friday the 14th and Saturday the 15th of May.

We will have a lot of samples on display, as well as shoes in various stages of the making process. We will of course be taking special orders - your choice of last, leather and model. The prices will be equivalent to Louis retail.

We will not be measuring for bespoke shoes at this event. We do have plans to do this in the future, but for now, only the special order shoes are available.

I would have posted on this earlier, but we have just now finalized plans. I look forward to seeing some of you there.

Forgive my ignorance, but what is the Artisan's Collaborative? And you need to get on Louis Boston's case for still not listing Vass among the brands they carry.

Their biggest trunk show I think. I'll have to check and see if it is OK to post the description that Louis sent us... All their best vendors will be there.

I don't think the website has been updated for a couple of years. Perhaps they will do so soon...

    From our invitation:

"Throughout the days of May 14th and 15th, Louis Boston will honor the continuation of artisanship in men's tailored clothing, haberdashery, and shoes. This event has proven to be highly successful in the past years, and our hopes are that this year will be the best yet.

As always, the idea is to join the best of the best and to present it to our most valued customers, those who have shown great enthusiasm and support for your products. The emphasis will be on the Fall/Winter 2004 collection."

This will be quite a trunk show - reps will likely be present from Kiton, Brioni, Oxxford, Barbera, Belvest, etc. Worth a visit for sure.

On a different note - did anybody spot the Vass shoes on the cover of last week's DNR?
