DESCRIPTION

$275 > $239 > $195 > $175

Valstar's eponymously named Valstarino blouson/A-1 jacket. In their words, "Il Primo, Il Originale, Il Autentico." A classic Milanese brand that needs no introduction.

This is an unlined cotton coat in a cellular cotton (see detailed photo) that gives a very slight stretch, but the finish and appearance is like a fine jeans jacket -- though softer and more refined.

Color is a pearled gray/stone white. This is from Valstar's garment-washed line, the effects of which are much more visible on their colored versions (blue, red, etc.). In this one, the garment-washed effect is significantly toned down and it looks very refined. You need one of these cotton ones for summer/fall and then a suede one for winter and you're set.

Ribbed hem, cuffs, and collar. Two buttoning hip pockets that also have side openings. Unusual metallic button cover doo-dad that can be removed or put on as desired. Metal locker loop at collar.

This is made up in their slimmer fit, though the inner tags were deliberately kept in the classic design (see photo). The contemporary version usually has a weird alien creature as the logo.

DETAILS

Size: 38/48
Manufacture: Italy
Content: 100% cotton
Retail: $500

This was worn a handful of times over several months. It saw one half season of wear. I recently had it completely refurbished, with any errant seams reinforced, the buttons removed, fully cleaned, buttons reattached, etc. In my estimation it looks better than when I first got it, and the seams are definitely stronger. No alterations to the actual shape have been made. It has been stored in a garment bag in a climate-controlled environment.
