V-Neck Vs. Crew Neck: T-Shirts, Long Sleeve knits, and under jackets

Under Jackets: I'm assuming most would agree the V is best because it goes with the jacket's V. Yes or No?

On their own is the V superior to the crew in aesthetic value or the crew.

No. If you're not wearing a shirt, then I prefer a crew neck to a v-neck under a jacket. I hate the look in the pic. If you're wearing a shirt underneath, then a v-neck looks fine. On their own, I like them both, but since the v shows more shirt, I'll give it the edge.

With no dress shirt underneath, a v-neck can only work if the neck isn't long. On that man, the look is good because of the rather casual jacket, the color combination, and his good looks.
