1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

I sent out my federal and DC tax forms by certified mail on April 13. My federal tax forms arrived three days later and Uncle Sam has already cashed the check. There is no record of delivery for my DC tax forms, which were being sent to a P.O. Box located in the same post office from where I mailed the forms. I suppose it's a good thing that I filed for a refund from DC and can refile anytime within three years if the form is indeed lost. [IMG]

This ever happen to anyone else?

Nope; e-file only here. I actually filed our returns right when we got our W2 forms...
Frankly the combination of waiting until April and using some carrier like that scares the crap out of me.

    No,I file online these days.

At least your situation wasn't reversed. Only your DC returns were lost.

Losing Federal Returns would be a horror. But you did send those certified.

You've made me grateful for living in Texas again.

When I lived in NYC, there were Federal, State, and City taxes. How do people do it?

E-file only. Even if it costs $10 it is well worth the convenience. I got mine out of the way and direct deposited about 3 months ago.

Alls well that ends well -- I received my tax refund check from the DC government yesterday. Apparently there is no need to record delivery if the package doesn't physically leave the post office.
