using extra virgin olive oil to oil leather?

people have done it without issues but don't risk it!

use something else - e.g. mink oil, lexol, etc.

I would get some Lexol cleaner and try to get it off. It will turn the leather pretty dark when the olive oil oxidizes. As if picks up dirt and solidifies it can also generate odors.
