Is there any way to pay with a credit card on Paypal when I have a positive Paypal balance?

I don't think so - you'd have to withdraw your balance first, or otherwise paypal will automatically apply it to a payment.

^^ this is what I've done in the past. It's a two step operation (wire $ back to your bank account, then pay with cc)

You just change your funding source when making a payment. I never draw from funds with paypal because i like getting money back when i use my CC.

It's impossible to use any other funds to make a paypal payment if there's anything in your paypal balance - it's paypal's rule - they want you to use that money first...
they'r pretty anal...

Is that new? I've done it before in the past.

Really? I've only been using paypal since 2001 but I've never seen that. Note that we're talking about the paypal balance, not your bank account balance.

Don't think so. They will take every penny from your paypal balance and give you the option of bank, e-check or cc for the remainder, but not for the total

Weird. I'll have to look into that. Transfering paypal balances around when I want to use a CC is kind of a pain **********.

Paypal will do everything they can to convince/coerce you to not use your credit card, as they incur a cost when you do. If you use money from your bank account or your balance, they still charge the seller, but it costs them nothing. And then there's the ?)

I paid for something with an e-check through Paypal last week without using any of my Paypal balance. They don't make it easy, but you can do it. Just click on 'other funding options'.

I believe that's because it's an e-check (i.e., no credit card fee for PayPal to incur). If you tried to change the funding option to credit card, PayPal would force use to use your balance first.
