Do you have to make an appointment before you go to one of the savile row tailors usa visits? Or can you just show up the day they are schedule to be in your town? Specifically, I'm wanting to check out Henry Poole's stuff when they are in my town and on their website they don't specifically state that you have to make an appointment.

For what it's worth, I'm not looking to commission a suit just yet, so I don't need one-on-one time with a tailor. I just wanted to check out their stuff up close and personal and get a feel for it.

You MUST make an appointment. Otherwise, you may have to wait until they are finished with all the day's appointments. Also it would be more polite, thus appreciated by them, even if you do not order.

Just drop by their hotel unannounced after 3AM...really pound the door, preferably with a silver topped cane.

That's what I do and it works for me.

I demand they come and meet me in places like public parks. I refuse to do any 'fittings' without the benefit of hundreds of anonymous witnesses.. they may knock you out and bolt with your wallet!

Alternatively, have them meet you at Tom Ford in NYC...the Ford flagship store features nice three-ways.

Agree with Frog. I always make an appointment. Plus, they give you a full service and it's personal if you have a private meeting.

Most of the time, walking into a NYC hotel room and dropping your trousers will get you the proper amount of attention. I've been doing it for years and for my trouble some guy keeps mailing me suits.

Sounds a bit suspicious if you ask me
