You know how they always say, "In the unlikely event of a water landing"? Well, is this a first of a successful such landing? I mean, apart from sea planes?

+1, I was just on a flight a few weeks ago and the flight attendant noted that i wasn't listening and that this is important..

How do you define successful? 100% survival rate amongst those on board?

No, but I always read that the warnings were a joke because the overwhelming likelihood was that the place would be destroyed on impact.
