The Crockett and Jones store is nice in that it is different and more "French" than other C&J stores. Also check out Marc Guyot's Cape Cod next door. While you are in the nabe you can even have a macaroon at Laduree. Mmmmmm Laduree.

Arnys is out of the way - is it really something a guy in his 30s can wear?

Of course! But do they have sales?

I'd wear the stuff, and I'm in my 20's. But it has more to do with personal taste than age. If you like classic men's clothes and you're in Paris, it's a prime stop. The have very beautiful cashmere scarves, amber cufflinks, ties, etc. Unlike Charvet shirts, Arnys shirts have a lot (very beautiful) hand sewing.

Check to see if the Le Corbusier looks good on you. The best part of Arnys is getting ideas. The most interesting stuff I found looked like it belonged in the court of the Sun King, but I got ideas about how it might work for me. I realized the importance of buttons in making something mundane look fantastic. YMMV. BTW it is not so far from St. Germain des Pres, how can that be out of your way? Are you Right Bank Tory?

Visit Galeries Lafayette, just for the coupole, then head down the avenue de l'opera to Carmina Shoes, then you are in rue st. honore and a stroll there is advised, go to the Alma bridge, cross the Seine and head to the Musee du Quay Branly, have something at the bar there then go to St.Germain and check Lobb and Berluti there, skip Brasserie Lipp and Cafe de Flore, leave the church on your right and head to rue Napoleon for Laduree. There are many many other places to see but you'll have sore feet

Don't forget to visit Spree in Montmartre and to visit the Beaubourg, then walk down rue Rambuteau and rue des francs bourgeois to Place de Vosges and have a chocolate chez Martini, there is a good restaurant in Place del Vosges and a nice bistro on the corner with rue de Turenne. You might also want to check the absynthe shop in rue d'Ormesson.
