What is the best way to upload photos onto styleforum?

The "upload file from your computer" option doesn't seem to show the pictures directly on the page.

And I'm not sure how the "upload file from a url" option works. Do you upload your photos onto photobucket first?

Apologies for the noob question. I did a search but couldn't find this answered anywhere else.

i personally don't like imageshack. I use photobucket. easy to use, although the whole process of uploading and editing is very time consuming, in general.

What don't you like about imageshack?

I have paid accounts on Flickr and SmugMug, but those are for my photography, not pics of clothing.

Ok, so photobucket....once you upload the photo onto photobucket, the photo is allocated an "image link code". Do you then copy and paste that code into the"upload file from a url" in styleforum? And do you use the "IMG Code - Forums & Bulletin Boards" on photobucket? I tried this but got a message saying "upload error".

When looking at the picture in Photobucket, underneath it will have several linking options. The easiest is to simply copy the entire contents to the right of IMG Code, and simply paste it into the reply box:

cucinellisweater1.jpg

The link that you paste should have the format of :
insert the direct link to your picture here (with no spaces between them), followed immediately by

The content in between the IMG tags should be the same content that is shown after Direct Link under your Photobucket image.

I'll say this and it has nothing to do with anything that imageshack does on its end, but it's URL is blocked at my place of work. Therefore, I am often let to wonder what some of these threads really look like w/o the pix. Photobucket, for whatever reason, does not have its URL blocked at my work. This the only reason I like it better.

So I encourage people to use Photobucket, but only for my own selfish reason.
