Step one:
Get some patina with very light wear and age. Wait very patiently.

Step two:
Care for the shoes along the way (trees, proper storage, etc.). Wait very patiently.

Step three:
Send it to Potter & Sons for a $250+ upgrade .... wait very, very patiently (months!), and behold.
