I was actually informed about that by one of their stockists around a month ago.
When I was trying to order from their town and country range, I was told to wait until next year due to "shortage in leather supply".
I suppose that counts as a credible source of information.
Of course I hope that I was wrong since I am very fond of their shoes and of course, no intentions of spreading rumours.

I think this means we need to start eating more meat.

Understood and I don't mean to come on too strong, but clearly SF is a place where rumors get started and take on a life of their own. I, personally, would not take the stockists word for it as most of them no very little about the products at all. I spent an evening having wine with both Andrew Sargent & Chay Cooper when they were here in Chicago their only complaint was finding more hours in the day--a common one for all of us. If you think about it, it is kind of silly. Perhaps it benefits him in some way.

Not a problem at all, I understand how rumours can spread really quickly via the web and hurt a company's reputation
and that I probably should have verified my information before posting something like that.
Anyways, It is always good to hear that they are doing well, which means that I'll probably get my Culfords soon= D

I really like Cheaney shoes and I think they don't get as much notice as they should. I just bought two pairs of Peals (C&J) and like them a lot, but my Cheaneys have a solidity and going-to-go-the-distance feeling about them that is hard to beat.

Forgive the question, but I'm getting 2 different responses from research:
    8 C in Allen Edmonds is a 7.5 F for the Cheaney's???

Are the FS029 the same leather and same last as Herring Grassmere?

Just got a reply from Cheany (they're fast).
Yes, the FS029 is made on the 175/F last (same as Grassmere above).
Anyone know if the leather quality is the same?

^^ Glad to hear the boots are good looking.

It's the likely custom duty (for the US) that is making me pause on those boots. IIRC Around 200 pounds shipped (cost of boot plus shipping), which is around $310. Then - if what I hear is right - customs is anther $100. Since I have not seen the boots IRL, hard to say whether they are worth that money, or whether I should wait fr a Trickers or some other boot makers' sale.

Pity those guys won't ship Royal Mail (less chance of being hit with a custom duty apparently)
