I'm having a raging boner for this shirt:

http://www.ralphlauren.com/product/index.jsp?productId=11754750

...in white, to be worn with casual wingtips and navy wool slacks/chinos. The French brown one looks good, too though. Haven't decided yet.

But from what I've gathered epaulettes are pretty much universally hated and are somewhat comparable to the square toed shoe.

Either way I will cop and then I might remove the epaulettes or leave them.

What does SF think? Epaulettes yes or no?

No epaulettes unless you're a pilot. Otherwise, they make the wearer look like a tool.

What is up with the military theme? If you want to wear a uniform just join the armed forces and they will give you the clothes for free. We are here to dress as dandys and fine gentelman not militants.

I'm sorry to be the one to break it to you, but, you have a raging boner because... you're gay.

I do recall having an erection when I bought my last pair of shellys... you might be on to something there...

Saw the title, thought this was going to be another Wright or Reevolving dumb threak.

Yeh epaulettes on shirts are OK IMO, especially if the shirt has two breast pockets.

Military actually have to buy all their clothing. They do get a budget but it hardly covers the cost.
