Unfortunately I was out of town during the Pommella visit. Did they say when they're like to be back?

Still no reply from Dalcuore about their dates, even after a second email. Maybe it's getting caught in a spam filter.

I don't think they've set a date yet, but I assume it's three or four months.

New trunk show schedule from Saint Crispin's. Two stops in California, Los Angeles and San Francisco

San Francisco
April 27th and 28th
St. Regis Hotel

Los Angeles
April 30th and May 1st
The W West Beverly Hills

I have a few of their shoes and love them. About the closest things I've seen to bespoke shoes without going bespoke.

Some upcoming events:

George Cleverley (April 16th and 17th)

I have a pair of shoes on order with them, but am only on the fitting stage. They seem nice so far, although from my impression, customers without orders get shorter appointment times than those who have purchased something in the past/ have an order on hand. So if you arrive, clarify if you have a one hour or 30 min appointment.

They also have a huge selection of leathers, which is nice.

Details of the event:

Nicholas Templeman (April 28th and 29thh)

Can't say enough good things about Nicholas' work. He's attentive to details and works closely with customers, which probably suits shoe fanatics on this board. Also good for guys who are commissioning their first pair of bespoke shoes since you're led through the process, and get a chance to really ask questions about various details, specify things, etc. Prices are also lower than any of the visiting West End firms.

Details of the event:

Pommella and Edward Sexton are also arranging their dates soon. I think they're looking at late April/ early May.

Dominic indicated to me that he was expecting to be in SF on or about May 5.

Wow! That's a mismatch.
Maybe CCC is making some real changes.

Oh?? Do you know what they'll be doing (bespoke, mto, rtw)? I've e-mailed Wingtip for more info too.
I exchanged emails with them prior to their last visit (December 2017). They said that they'd be doing MTO, MTM, and bespoke sport coats. They were pretty good about responding, so hopefully they'll get back to you about what they're offering and prices. If not, let me know, and I can shoot you a PM with the prices they quoted at the time (I have to dig it up from my email).

ETA: I contacted Sartoria Vestrucci through this page: https://www.sartoriavestrucci.com/contact/.

Just found this thread! Should be a great resource going forward.

I'm going to stop by the Drake's at CCC and GF trunk shows after work today. Looking forward to both.

Edward Sexton (May 5th through 8th)

Edward Sexton is returning to California in a few weeks. I stopped by the trunk show earlier this year and checked out the range of MTM and bespoke. The MTM is drafted and cut from block patterns in London, at Sexton's workshop, but then sent to China for make. The quality seemed really nice. And much more affordable than bespoke.

Naturally, bespoke gives you more options. And for that very distinctive Sexton look, it seems to be the only way to go. At the moment, MTM to me felt like a more toned down version of the Sexton style.

I was surprised by how much I liked the full-on Sexton in person. The padded shoulders can look formal in a suit, but in more casual fabrics and sport coats, it seemed more fashion forward than formal. And in being so fashion forward, also oddly casual (in the way that, say, Margiela's padded shoulders would be casual). I thought the cut would work for a dark evening jacket. Not evening wear per se, but like a navy plaid sports coat designed to be worn at night for going out.

Anyway, worth stopping by if you're interested.

Details of the event:
  • Dates: San Francisco on May 5th, then Los Angeles on May 6th through 8th.
  • Locations: The Scarlet Huntington in San Francisco. Not sure of the location in Los Angeles, but I imagine it's The W.
