Surprised there isn't a thread yet, it's getting very good reviews from just about everyone. My friend saw it this afternoon and said it was wonderful. Anyone seen it?

yes, i saw it after i went to see avater. it was quite good, definitely better than the man who stares at goat. it has more than a handful of witty and funny moments. the style of the movie reminds me of Michael Clayton .

i know, it sucks.

I don't understand why the do this, is it to test the water or do they release it in the larger markets first so that all the press can write reviews etc?

either way, it blows listening to NPR and every 3rd show is an interview with Jason Reitman or George Clooney about the film.

I saw it last night. I think I let people hype it up for me a little too much. Still very good, but I have to say I enjoyed Fantastic Mr. Fox even more, though I am a big sucker for Wes Anderson, so take that as you will. A-

I think some films just don't do well outside of major cities. This one should do pretty well though so I dunno. Is it getting a wide release in the future?

More than half of the movies that I was excited for this year got limited releases though.

My wife saw it in Phoenix last week, she said it was really good.

It doesn't hit Sacramento until Christmas Day. Freakin' small towns

Let me just addend this by saying everyone should do their best to go see it. It is a timely, poignant film with a lot going on. It is powerful and charming, I simply felt like they could have made it a bit more edgy. Definitely a very good film, George Clooney has had a good year. Especially worthy of attention I think are the unknown actors who so adeptly play the fired workers, it is hard to believe that some of the scenes are not actual people being let go. Vera Farmiga is also really ******* hot.

I think I read that they are actually people who were recently let go from their jobs. IIRC, Reitman put ads in newspapers asking for people to appear in a documentary or something like that.

I absolutely hated it. The writing was incredibly formulaic. They weren't even trying when they named the girl "Keener". One of those movies where you see the punchlines coming from half a mile away.

I liked the idea of the laid off employees in the beginning. The rest of it was in my opinion, quite bad. It was a script written for Clooney, and of course being the smug bastard he is, he delivers. Everyone loves this movie though, which is to be expected.

I couldn't wait to finish the book, so i just saw it anyways.

I dug the hell out of it.

A, its rare I see a movie and recognize buildings I drive past somewhat regularly.

B, as has been mentioned, Vera Farmiga is very attractive.

C, George Clooney is one of the last movie stars we've got left.

D,the soundtrack is stellar

E, it isn't some bullshit typical romantic comedy.

F, J.K whats his face, and Zach Galifinakis both deliver.

just go see the movie.
