Alright...been contemplating this for awhile now. A friend (not close--guy I hang out with a couple times/year) dated a girl I now happen to like, starting 3 years ago, and ending just over a year ago. Since then, she's dated one guy for a short period of time. For about a couple weeks, she and I have been hangin out, but I've been reluctant to take things further, because of what my friend will think/say.

    What does everyone think?

Since you aren't too close to the guy, it's been over a year, and she's dated someone else, I think you know the answer. I'd say go for it.

There is a saying amongst the unclubbable here in Britain that runs "muff before mates". Enough said.

Here in the U.S., I've heard "bros before hoes." But I think the British version is more applicable to this situation, especially if you aren't really close to the guy. I'd say go for it as well
