• CALLING ON HOME SEWERS TO HELP HEALTHCARE WORKERS FIGHTING COVID-19

The lack of proper masks, gowns, and eyewear equipment is making it difficult for health workers to do their work fighting the novel coronavirus. In a recent New York Times article, medical workers said they were worried about how they can both fight the coronavirus without imperiling themselves, as well as their loved ones when they go back home.

If you are a home sewer, please consider helping my joining Hickey Freman Technical Vice President Jeffery Diduch in his effort to produce and deliver homemade gowns and masks to medical professionals in the greater Rochester, New York Area. Read about how you can help here

I'm not sure if I am using the correct terminology, but in the following images you can see the ends of the shirts splay outwards, so there is a bit of gap (near the crotch):
Do you think the fit in the above shirts are too tight? Should the ends of the shirt come together at the bottom when untucked?

Maybe because they are not accounting for the increasing width as you go down from your waist to hips. Since they are untucked shirts, they should be sitting around your waist, therefore, only tapers down. So if the shirt is slightly too long for your torso and sits under your waist, I am assuming the hips will cause the flaring. First pic, the shirt ends just above the hips. Second pic ends over the hips. Thus, second pic has more flaring out than the first pic.

I like to be able to pinch a couple of inches of fabric all the way from the hem to the chest. This still looks like a tailored fit but lets the shirt hang reasonably. Less than that, they'll pull too tight when you sit. Also, when you raise your arms, the hem will ride up and won't go back down on its own, so you'll be pulling it down all day.

These look like there's no room. They're pulling at the hips when he just stands there.
