until what age do your kids believe in Santa Claus?

My parents and older siblings/cousins did a good job in keeping the younger ones, including myself, believing for a good while. I think I finally caught on when I was 9. My younger brothers believe until they were around 9 or 10 as well. Christmas was so much better back then...

I'm not really sure what age I finally figured it out. I love the spirit of Christmas, and giving to others. I agree with Dakota that Santa symbolizes much more than a fat, cookie eating, old man.

When I was a kid I never bought into it much and I pretty much figured it out that Santa wasn't real. However when I have kids I'm not sure how I want to handle this. On one hand, it's straight up lying to your children and for me, there's no nostalgic value in the magic of believing in Santa Claus.

I stopped believing in the fourth grade. My parents thought I believed/ I kept going along with it until I graduated 8th grade/started high school.

My little brother is 13 and he still honestly believes in santa.

so, at what age to I have to stop worrying about this?

Just make him believe. Tell him if you dont believe in Santa then there is nobody to be giving you gifts. Always worked for me, I never asked questions after my parents did that.

Just tell him that its pointless to celebrate a holiday you dont believe in so you might as well believe in santa or no presents.

My wife says age 9 or 10 is how long they are likely to still believe -- sooner if some dirtbag tells them.
