I may be overreacting, but I just got a sport coat from Aquascutum. Main regent street store.

After judging the sleeves were the right length, they cut open the button holes and removing the label from the sleeve.

But there remain little holes where the thread was, and raised bits in places where its been removed.

Maybe I should just ignore it, but I'm thinking it's slightly careless.
Saying that the material is a fine cotton so maybe it's just the nature of the material.

Thoughts, cheers.

If you haven't cut any holes, just use an iron and a damp cloth (wet handkerchief, wrung out).
Presuming it's a woollen fabric, the markings will disappear as soon as the steam penetrates the cloth.

But, if you've cut a hole.....................

I should point out that Aquascutum removed the label for me. I did not do this - is this irrepairable damage, or shall I try the iron trick?

Can't call it the former if you don't try the latter, can you?

If you don't want to try the iron yourself, pop into any competent dry cleaner.

Based on the above pictures, I don't see any issues associated with removing all evidence of the tacking of the label. We face that issue on almost every new sport coat or coat that we clean (often they come in with the label still attached, even though the garment has been clearly worn!!).
