Step back for a moment and read this in an alternate light.

Say you were a life guard at a local pool, your boss is an alcoholic and very poor at his job. You don't get a raise anyway. And finally you no longer work for this schmuck.

So you send an email rife with sarcastic but cutting comments.

I could easily explain that away to an intern manager of any caliber.

I thought it hilarious. He obviously feels slighted, but this manager probably is a moron so who cares. Anyway, he's an arrogant young intern, what's new? Even after taking time to write his e-mail and wanted to make a point of how intelligent he is, he still proceeded to slather in a number of errors and idiotic grammatical mistakes.
