In talking with Mark Cho, I’m keen to try a four-ply Drapers fresco from their Ascot line. Pricey, but Mark likes it better; he says it has more “bounce”. Not sure about surface texture. Will see it in person next month & report back.

Is that also Finmeresco? Looks to share some DNA.

Can confirm its one of my favourite cloths around. Holds its shape super well. Feels great on the skin too.

I got to handle the 4ply at NMWA. Its fairly heavy for summer about 12oz but gauze like. The cloth definitely had a bouncey, stretch feel.

How is the visual texture? Nonexistent, mottled, cloudy....?

Without knowing the specific purpose, I would say the standard Fresco, Crispaire and Finmeresco would be the first stops. Fresco being the roughest texturally of the three. Then there's always linen, but that is a more limited application.

I have a pair of the "sand" fresco trousers from the new fresco bunch. They are smoother, which is nice from a itch/wear perspective, but do lack a bit of the visual texture people like on the fresco II fabrics. That said, they are a great color for summer and no one will ever look at them and see orphaned trousers.

I am having a pair of summer mid-gray trousers made up in Draper's ascot. Seems really nice, throwing it out as an another alternative along the lines of crispaire, etc.

For better or worse, I do somewhat like the scratch. I believe yours (the lighter weight version?) is a slightly lighter color, but the heavier sand is still very tempting. Imagine it goes very well with blues/greens/darker browns.

For reference, this is the heavier sand. Very versatile.

I am a huge fan of the regular, coarse Fresco, both for suits and odd trousers. Lots of texture and varigation in the coloring. I like the "new" Fresco, but I just think its much more limited in application. Thanks for sharing.

I'm interested in making up a linen blazer for warm weather wear - is 380g a good weight to have it drape well and still be breathable/cool to wear in the summer? I'm planning on having it half or quarter lined as well...
