Does anyone have an idea on what cloth this is or a cloth similar to it?

Escorial. Check out Simon’s page. If I recall, he gives the ref number.

ahh thanks! I was on a lookbook page which didnt mention the reference #, but I found it by checking out a different article featuring the jacket (its ESC22 quality, A1009 design, A1 colour for anyone wondering).

Is anyone aware of a similar fabric on the more affordable end of things?

Porter & Harding, Glenroyal 44613 isn't that far from it.

I made a screenshot of Qemal Selimi IG so I could share the swatches he posted here. Any ideas of the top fabric? It is obviously a vintage one. Kind of Sportex right?

In the works...Botany 3545 and Archive Flannel 16 oz 90309
Contrast in hue and texture here might be useful for people to see. 90309 looks mid grey to me.
Finmeresco below that

On the light side of mid, but point taken. Suit for that, or odd trousers?

Funny about the relativity of color judgements. The glimpse of the lower left fabric is of finmeresco 2730 which I would have thought light grey from the web pic, but the trousers I have in that fabric reads mid grey to me, perhaps on the “lighter” side. Mid grey for me requires a good but not extreme contrast with navy on the lightness scale, as in the above botany/archive flannel contrast. I wouldn’t want the grey to be too much darker. I think the above pic of the archive flannel bleaches on the lightness scale as well.
