Wow, we must have differing taste/knowledge because I witnessed floor to ceiling gorgeous fabrics by the all the fabric houses that are mentioned with reverence on this thread. Check your cards to see what they reveal and get back to me. If you prove they're meh the lobster rolls are on me.

Shall definitely add it to the list. Last time I went, I didn't check to see if it had summer hours and arrived to a closed store. On the plus side, it had been a few years since I got to experience the glory of the Pulaski bridge.

Oh man, the view of Manhattan from the Pulaski Bridge at night is something everyone should see. And, with the ongoing clean-up in/around Newtown Creek you can roll your windows down and not worry about the smell ??

I shall take a harder look at the Gimeno when it comes back from alterations (the collar needed a little pulling down in the back). Somehow, I was only aware of lack of construction, but there is probably a reason that he's famous.
Sorry for the very late response but Camiseria Bugos in Madrid is a great intermediary with Gimeno. Burgos can collect your jacketing and your specs to ensure that Gimeno gets it right.

Does anyone have a suggestion for a jacketing like this? This specific cloth is vintage, so I'm curious if there are modern alternatives.

Also, does anyone have suggestions for a classic but slightly 70s styled jacketing? Ideally a tweed? I've combed through Lafayette Saltiel Drapiers' recent posts and didn't see anything I really wanted. Don't want the worst of couch-covering-styled 70s, but something with a hint of that era.

Wow, those both look great! Looks like there are two fabrics there labeled 2646, but they're both really nice.

Leaning towards the first one, but don't know if the second will end up looking a bit more 70s. Both are great cloths. Going to keep these two in mind even aside from this 70s project. Might get a tweed just for fun. Thanks!

Used to walk across it every morning to take the 7. I often joked that if I fell into Newtown Creek, odds were roughly even on getting superpowers or a deadly disease.

Is that from a current book, or did you find it on sale somewhere?

Taylor & Lodge sometimes circulate their own label stuff, which must annoy Lesser's, which uses their work in a lot of their core ranges. I found some at A&S 2 years ago, and this spring it was nowhere to be seen.

Current book I believe. I got it from kabbani textiles. Do they weave for lesser?

Taylor & Lodge I think is a regular source for the Golden Bale cloths, and probably did other stuff as well.

Think it's the only mill to have ever done it. If memory serves me correctly, it was more or less a pure mill before deciding to become a merchant / brand in its own right.
