But not fuzzy silk and cashmere blend for the summer?

It says its a summer fabric on the website. I only posted because there wasn't much to discern from those cloths other than the various shades.

gents thanks again for the advice and the humor.

last question: those of you with jackets in open weave fabrics like mock leno and it’s ilk. Full lining or half?

The half lining gives me pause given that a blue or casual white shirt will likely show through the unlined portions. Still breathability in the humidity of NE US summers is desirable, assuming there’s a NE for me to return to (stuck in lockdown in London as some of you no doubt are as well).

Sheesh you all...I'm having a cream silk DJ made and possibly a silk dinner shirt...stop trying to dissuade me

I’ve got a bunch of silk shirts from Budd - lovely stuff with a matte finish and none of the sheen that cheap silk is infamous for. But it’s special event stuff mostly because ironing it is a complete pest; I don’t trust the place I get my cotton shirts ironed, so I have to do it myself and take my time about it.

Never had the nerve to try a silk shirt. Actually, there was a semi-sport shirt from a silk blend OTR at a resort-- washing it created the most astounding odor. Never wore it a second time.

I really like silk knitted polos for summer but they are not easy to find and pricey. They drape better than cotton or linen and are cooler to wear.

I still use one I bought from Diesel when I was 18 (I'm 32) and I love it. Probably one of my favourite pieces in my wardrobe.

Washing silk reminds one that it is just worm spittle after all.

Received this today. Feels really smooth in the hand (to me it is even smoother than the escorial wool) but I am guessing it might not have enough drape.

FWIW, I machine wash my silk PJs (in Woolite on the gentle cycle) and never had an issue with them, odor or otherwise.

Just took delivery of some of the last of Lesser 16oz: dark/mid-grey chalk 29670, a wide version of 29674 that is on the website), and a navy herringbone with widely spaced pin stripes (29694, still on the website with 17m left). A lifetime's supply of winter business and evening-out suiting!

My Minnis Mock Leno jacket is half lined. Shirt doesn't show through.

Unless you want your shirts to stick to the jacket.
