The buttons are about 1/2" too close so that will be corrected on the next commission.

I'll probably have the shoulders in a bit and go 1/2" shorter on the jacket length as well.

The cuffs are 2".

Instead of taking in the shoulders, one can have the skirt flare increased. That way the jacket looks more symmetrical.

IMO, that would look quite odd given the trim cut of the pants.

These are great adjustments for your next commission.

I think I may have just found the material for my next sportcoat:

It's a Fox flannel - anyone have experience with this particular one?

I have that swatch on my desk. I think it would make a better suit, but can prolly still work for a SC. I believe NOBD has a suit in this and he wears the jacket both ways.

FWIW, I love the color, feel and weight of this.

its killing me - I know where to get suitings, I can't find a good place to get good shirtings.

Awesome - I have a swatch on order. Is the green windowpane more prominent than in the picture?

I hear you on the suit vs. sportcoat. I actually have a brown glenplaid suit (no windowpane) that I wear as separates a lot. This would be replacing it in my wardrobe.

I have the same swatch and I would say it's slightly more prominent than in the photo, but you do have to look close to see it. One of these days I'll get my glen plaid Fox Flannel made up. It's not this one, but more of a traditional style. It feels fantastic.

Shame on me: I hadn't noticed the overcheck on the swatch on my desk (I keep them there too...) until after quite some time. Check the pics of my Caruso in that fabric and see (or not see) for yourself.

Edit: http://www.styleforum.net/showpost.p...7&postcount=51

(Besides the green overcheck) it's not black and white (cream), btw, has some blue in it as well.

Thank you sir. Weird - in the Fox picture, it reads brown to me but in your pictures, it's more bluey-gray.

Just goes to show....

You're most welcome, sir. Yes, it's hard to get the colours right or to judge colours from screen pics. I'd definitely say it's blue-gray more than brown grey.
