Got some SWEET cloth from TailorsGrandaughter today...first there will be a three piece winter suit in heavy English tweed, next one a three piece spring/summer suit in LP with 50% mohair and 50% wool and the last I'm not sure...maybe a sportcoat, but may look to swap it...its 100% wool, and I just think its too yellowish brown for my complexion. If anyone is interested in a 2 yrd for 2 yrd swap for the last fabric, let me know. Frank will usually do that for me, and there's a piece I've had my eye on there, so if there's no interest, no worries. I'd be curious to see how you guys would have the mohair made up...I'm thinking 3 roll two, sb waistcoat, ff trousers with cuffs and two besom pockets, but I may opt to go flap, as if I want the besom look i could always just tuck them in. I'd go with a soft roll and 3.75" lapels, no lapels on the waistcoat and side tabs on the trousers with a hook and button extension. I'd definitely have it nice and trim, where as the heavier tweed I would go for much fuller ff trousers with cuffs trousers, 3 roll two, 4 " lapels, lapelled sb waistcoat with flaps and a ticket. Both would be very lightly canvassed with no shoulder padding. thoughts? [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] Would this interest anyoneVVV Would make a cool spring SC for someone with complimentary complexion [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

NYR, you might consider doing double forward pleats on the tweed 3-piece. I think that would look more complementary to the silhouette you're talking about. And I'm usually a FF guy FWIW. :)

NYR, I like the first two fabrics. It would be nice if mohair/wool was lighter. Why don't you try 3 roll 2.5 with 4" soft lapels for the first two. I haven't seen anything from Ercole in 3 to 2.5 roll, it maybe a good look for you.
I have mixed feelings about the third fabric,I like it and dislike it,I guess I dislike it more,it is too obvious that it is vintage.
Also,do you mind sharing his prices for suits and jackets?

That Hardy/Minnis lambswool collection looks intriguing. I can't remember seeing any of the London tailors bringing that on their US trips.

oh noes ! blue trousers !

Actually going to have a Charles Calyton "denim" wool that I will have made up as pants for sale. Gorgeous indigo "denim", a few heads should explode.

    After seeing this:

I'm fully aboard the Solaro ship:

Ed - are you still getting something made up?

Yes, a typical 3roll2, 2 patch suit in the herringbone. But I won't be wearing a Jerry Garcia tie nor schoolgirl shoes with it. And I'll wear socks.

Don't worry, old men tend to shrink as they age... this will solve the problem of tightness

Think the third fabric is going to be used for scarves...I'll make myself one, and if I like how it comes out, ed may have some competition...[IMG]

Maybe his first collab? PantasxNYR (just kidding Ed!)

    Thoughts?

For the pants line, an indigo "denim" Charles Clayton wool/silk. I love it, it's a great weight and can't wait to see "denim" office pants:

A Loro Piana brown/burgandy herringbone cashmere/wool for some panta pants:

A zegna cashmere gunclub for some panta waistcoats and possibly a sportcoat.

A grey herringbone wool/cashmere for an overcoat, it's 500 grams or so, can't do heavier than that:
