I don't care for either of those. But setting that aside, it seems like the yellow cast could be treacherous for some complexions.

Got it! I'm with you on all three, at the moment just waiting to hear back from the mill on what patterns are possible given the yarns available. This will be with W. Bill in case anyone was wondering, which still remains the best all-round linen for suiting I know of.

I've still got some custom glenplaid from W. Bill left (the last 6.5m from a run I did last year) -

And also the Bonfanti puppytooth 170/2 twill below -

I've got these for the 200/2 twill due to be finished this week, which is a special order fabric (well even more so than normal biggrin.gif) because they're the first ever from Bonfanti

    Solid blue
    Solid sky blue
    Sky blue stripes

Got it Empty.. Will most likely do it in linen. I think it's a better cloth than hemp in terms of wearability and comfort, and drape too. That should give some surface interest/texture to the pattern.

How much are the bonfati? And how much would the potential linen jackting be?

The bottom one for me. The yellowish tint you described will not be noticeable when made up.

Thanks for the feedback, everyone. I'll mull over these choices this week.

Interesting. Imo/e it's the opposite regarding hemp and linen. I have shorts, shirts, jeans, t-shirts, etc. in hemp and prefer it to linen. But it's not a huge difference.

For those who are interested in hemp, P. Johnson has it in 10.5 oz from Delfino, the top two tans:

If the colours work for you, it's fine.

"If the colors work for you" sounds a bit ominous! Is a derivative of brown a bad color choice? Personally, I like the color and think I could pair it with Gray, Khakhi or Olive trousers.

Anyone got suggestions for a summer suit or jacket?
Was thinking about Harrisons Mersolair for a 100% linen or a linen/mohair mix. Does anyone have experience with these?

Can't find the book online at harrisons website, but my tailor has it.

you can find it on merino brothers website. it's a nice summer jacketing. no experience making it up as a summer suit. some of the patterns are definitely jacketing only.

    Thanks!

Was thinking of a navy or chocolate linen/ linen blend jacket with hip patch pockets. Should be able to use it as a sport cost and a summer suit. Will have a look!
