Took the plunge this weekend and placed an order for my first bespoke suit (I've had MTM done in the past) in the fabric above. It was surreal and scary.

First basted fitting today (Basted it in front of me actually).

    So far, so good.

No sleeves as yet though so I may still run into the much-feared divots.

Is Michael Sestak and Tip Top the primary US sources for Carlo Barbera fabrics?

Good to hear it's going well with your MBT. Divots should be easily fixed no?

Hope your taking lots of pics to share when the time is right.

Well, I'm hoping for no divots but we shall see.

No pics as yet but will definitely take pics of the final product.

2m is adequate for jackets, even if they are patterned, unless you are very large and tall.

He said he is a 46 L (assuming anglo-saxon measure) he is tall and not small!

You can try Scabal.com which has an online catalog and you can narrow your search by color and pattern, in addition to weight and composition You can find lots of pics of Harrisons cloths at SF member Andrew Roger's flickr

i started a thread on this subject exactly. i went with an 11oz lessers from their worsted suitings book and im really happy with it. It has a nice fuzzy texture that i was looking for, not quite flannel.

anyway, dig through the 'threads started by fox81' for some other examples

We've officially passed into Fall, but with temperatures near 95* in Los Angeles, I felt inspired to break the "rules" and go for some more linen.

Rules were meant to be broken. Enjoy and wear them well.

I'm glad you agree! Thanks again.

that blue is very nice, what brand is it?

Thanks, the selvedge says Giorgio Armani, but I'm pretty sure that's FOR, not BY, Armani. I'd love to know the actual mill.

FYI, in case you're interested in sourcing it, I picked the cloth up at Michael Levine in Downtown LA.

Freddy Vandecasteele steered me towards them. I'll be sure to post pics of how it looks made up. Starting with the blue.

I assume your refering to the 'PoW fabric options' thread. Im looking for something a bit bolder, and blue or navy, not grey with a blue overcheck. Looks good, though. How did it turn out?

These are very similar in colour to some of the cloths in Acorn's Barbados range. Those however are a Bamboo/Linen mix. Very nice, I have the Lime green. Here: http://www.acornfabrics.com/barbados_page.html
