Thinking about making a 3 season/fall&winter suit. Does anyone know how LL mistrals can compare to the likes of Lesser 16oz, steadfast and HE box 16oz?

They are heavier but will breathe much better, as they are open hopsacks.

Question - looking for a new staple navy SC, should I go for sharkskin (non shiny), Birdseye, etc or just go for plain worsted?

(I've seen lots of swatches on this thread get shot down for being too much like suiting, so I wanted to go a little away from that and have texture, but still be versatile and a staple Navy SC)

If you want plain, don't go for the sharkskin or birdseye-- that will look like a plain suit jacket. A navy serge or hopsack, on the other hand, is very standard blazer material.

You might also think about some of the herringbones, which may be a little too relaxed to be suiting but will be pretty discreet. Something from the Glorious 12th or Worsted Alsport books, for example.

Well it's not that I want plain per se, but I want something that matches easily, and is a staple.

Well avoid the suitings, except for the country fake-tweed suitings. Again, herringbone is a nice place to start.

Hoarding all the good cavalry twill. (These will probably go "unfunded" for awhile --- looking at thousands in CMT pants fees :D Fuck me)

    Add this to the pile

Zegna from edmorel (just the fabric)

Anyone know who this fabric is from (where southwick sources this from)

Also, I assume this would be better as a suit than a jacket due to the PoW

Sorry for the late reply. I think there's enough interest. mktitsworth already confirmed with me via PM that the's interested. If @chuckb, @concordia, and anyone else is interested, please PM me. I'll organize an order privately with people by next week.
