£60/m is absolutely nuts for linen, the margins and model for cloth made from plant fibres is totally different from woollens.

Even for high quality linen? I guess one can make the same argument for cottons- also plant fiber derived, but I would argue the upcharge can be worth it in both cases.

And with all due respect, only fools would pay 60gbp/m for cotton (and most would say linen also)

To my eye, that looks like Minnis fresco 520, RAF blue. It might not be 4 season, though.

Pretty offensive. There are plenty of folks around here, including myself, that have paid that and more for cotton shirting. It is not always worth the upcharge, but in many cases it is.

There are no weavers in cotton selling cloth for £60/m. Bonfanti much loved by Alden sells cotton for E19/25m. You can get the LL linen from the manufacturer for £14/m.

You can get an ice-cream sundae from Serendipity 3 for $1,000 if you want as well.

I'm sorry if you are paying that for your standard high quality shirting I stand by my last statement, and I generally feel bad for you. If you are talking about exceptions where you have paid that for a limited 2/200s then sure, but the premise of this conversation is standard high quality cloths.

If you pay 60gbp/m+ for 2/100sx2/100s I stand by the last comment

For 14 GBP, I would buy a few meters, no doubt. Have you bought it yourself?

I've mentioned several times in the thread where all the high quality Irish linen comes from, why do you refuse to believe me?

Meh. Not worth arguing with you. I simply stated that the additional cost CAN be worth it. Anyhow, I do not need you to feel bad for me. I'm quite content with my situation, but thanks for your concern.

I don't, I contacted both mills and will get samples. I agree that 60 GBP is too much for linen, regardless of what others say and the arguments they make. So thank you for the tip.
