1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

    There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Don't think this thread has been used before to get a special run together for tie silk. If not appropriate I'm happy to delete my post here. Anyway I'm trying to get people together to do a special run of a vintage-like grenadine in one or more of these colourways

    [IMG]

    The ties will be made by Patrizio Cappelli. More details in this thread:

    Assuming this is for the garza special run;

    Cost is for normal 3 fold: €100, 5 fold: €120, and 7 fold €140. We need a minimum of 5 ties to make the 7 fold, and 12 ties for the 3 fold.

    It will be an MTO/bespoke tie, so anyone participating can decide width/length/number of folds.

    All info in the thread linked to in my earlier post.

    W Bill's book is excellent. About 14oz, which I find quite comfy in the summer. It's not the weight (and heat) so much as the humidity. Linen of this quality breathes unbelievably well, and will even survive the furnace of Manhattan pretty well.

    My preference would be somewhere between the 23 and the HY, maybe with a bit more mottling.

    Holland and Sherry has some nice linen books too. I recently acquired a lovely tan suit made of 11 ounce Holland and Sherry linen.

    Some good stuff there.

    I think I really like the one on the left and the Breanish is a StyFo classic.

    quick question on fabric lengths to order: I want to have a 3/4 length overcoat made, hitting between the kneecap and waist

    I'm a suit size 42 regular

    would 3.25 yards work if the fabric has no pattern to match and it's a simple single button coat (not double breasted)?
