Do you order it yourself? I'd be keen try to it but don't think any of the makers I use have the books.

    Totally agree.

CEGO makes a solid shirt at a good price. But fit, construction and fabric selection are considerably better at Geneva. For similar fabrics, CEGO is only about $30 cheaper than Geneva so price isn't so much of an issue.

Does CEGO do full bespoke anymore? I know his previous shirt maker left and went to work for Ercole's...

Carl gets his MTM shirts made up by the Gambert shirt factory in New Jersey, like many other MTM outfits in the New York area, from what I understand...

I asked Frank about G&R, but he said he's never heard of it. Odd.

When was that? I saw the G&R in the New York office not too long ago. Frank was going on and on about how great it was. He was surprised CEGO carried it.

This was maybe a few months ago. Then again I did say, do you have any books by that fabric company from India? He said no. Maybe he doesn't know it is from India? Do you know how it compares to Rubinelli? I have been getting Rubinelli shirts that I have been very happy with for the price.

G&R = Rubinelli. Which G&R are you talking about?

In the old space, the cutting table was right there when you walked in the door. And Mike was always there, holding a knife. The new space is a lot bigger and more polished, looks more retail and less like a factory.

I only went on the weekends. Eugene was the only one there in the office.

Oh wow, I guess it is me who is confused, not Frank. I swear CEGO had some fabrics from India that were supposedly very good. I thought this was G&R. I thought Rubinelli was different.

I don't know. I got a few bespoke shirts (in ghastly patterns - my own darn fault) a while ago.

The more recent shirts I've ordered have all been MTM. I got a bunch of white shirts for everyday wear and wanted to keep the cost as low possible since I like to bleach those sorts of shirts.

Joe Hemrajani had gotten some fabric from India a few years back and raved about it.

I dismissed it as nationalism at the time but maybe there really is an arbitrage out there.

I was a bit skeptical so promptly forgot the name of the merchant / mill.
